ROFLOL

Da Cajun
comes thru with a delicious thot...

Gannett News aka Argus Leader

Today's poll on the Sioux Falls newspaper is: "Should black-tailed prairie dogs be designated as an endangered species?"

At 7:25 am the result of 84 votes cast is; 39.3% yes, and 60.7% no.

What a "no-brainer"!

First of all, why is there a list of endangered species? For most of my sixty years of life, I have heard people speak of "survival of the fittest". If that is a viable theory, then why are we designating anything as endangered?

Secondly, who died and made us god? Where do we get off deciding that a darter snail, or a prairie dog are more important in the scheme of things than human beings? You say, in the Bible God created trees, and animals BEFORE He created man, therefore man must be the lesser entity. Well, DUH!!

We do need to recognize that there is a movement in this world, of people who have too much time on their hands, and probably too much money, who think that man has ruined the earth. I find it hard to understand that someone would want to get rid of humans, simply because they think we are destroying this planet, which we had no part in creating.

To my military mind, if these environ-mental wackos who want to rid the earth of man, were really dedicated to their philosophy, they would demonstrate their zeal by taking the lead, and taking their own self out of this world.

How many times have I heard it said, that you preach a stronger sermon by your actions than by your words?

If Darwin's theory on life is true, and it is true that the fittest survive; then shouldn't we allow "E. V. O. L. U. T. I. O. N" to continue to evolve the species; rather than trying to circumvent the natural process?

I am so tired of the petty crap that passes as concern, but is really exhibiting "holier-than-thou" platitudinous hog wash.

Waste of money

Yesterday I picked up a copy of No Country for Old Men. I had heard, from different quarters that it was supposed to be a good movie.

Seems it was a good depiction of the existential emptiness that life has become in the past forty or fifty years.

In all honesty, I could find no socially redemptive qualities in the entire movie. In fact, by the time the credits began rolling, at the end of the movie, I wondered where the punch line might be.

A tired old sheriff, who has to make up stories to get people to tell him what he wants to know; and then when asked about the stories says, "It was a story".

A man who mercilessly kills anyone who comes across his path, and gives the impression it is more of a game for him.

Sorry, when the end of the movie has the sheriff in retirement talking about his dreams. And the evil nemesis killing an innocent woman, then being involved in a motor vehicle accident, and getting up and walking away, leaves me with that existential emptiness that cries, ain't there no justice in this world?

So, we have reached the point where hollyweird no longer provides us good guys who wear white hats, as strong purveyors of justice. But instead reflects the mindset that the good guys are impotent, and self reflectant, while the bad guys get what they want and get away with it.

Well, I guess in all honesty, isn't that what we have been hearing from the federal courts and the supreme court?

May God have mercy on our souls.

Sorry, Scotty, it may be too late to beam me up!

Throwing the baby out with the bath water...

Sweet Pam has an alarming post up about children.

We should have seen it when we learned that doctors and school nurses were asking children if there were guns in their home.

We should have heard when our elected officials in con-gress started talking about "hate crime law".

It has long been understood "Give me your children, and I will rule the world!"

Calling Rumplestiltskin; earth to Rumplestiltskin, please come in.

Stand by for more earthquakes around the country, because there are a lot of people who will be turning over in their graves...

Leisure time

Spent yesterday reading To Hell and Back, Audie Murphy, Bantam Books, New York, 1979.

I remember as a child, watching the movie down at the theater on Saturday morning. I was impressed then, and today, after 29 years of active duty, I am even more impressed.

He was my hero, back in the early fifties; and he is still my hero today.
